REVIEWS
 These
comics reviews ran from 1994 - 1997 in The Vancouver Review,
a quarterly (roughly) literary free paper locally.
Although I acknowledge that some of these are out of date they are
included in case anyone is inspired to go searching the back
issue bins and to show my concept of comic strip reviews of
comic books.
If my
reviews come across as "too positive", in my defense I would
say three things. First that I've been on the receiving end
of a few hack jobs so I know what it's like. Second that I
was addressing an audience unfamiliar with comic books and
I wanted to help them find the good stuff. Lastly, nobody
was paying for the review copies and I couldn't afford to
buy comics I suspected beforehand I wouldn't like.
There
are no plans to revive the series at the moment but who knows,
maybe if I start to get review copies (hint) I'll reconsider,
perhaps a monthly feature on the web site?
